SME Fellowship

Backing the innovators building Europe’s climate economy.

Start-ups, scale-ups and SMEs are the engine of Europe’s climate transition. They move fast, take risks and turn bold ideas into working solutions; yet too often they lack the platform, the networks and the capital that larger players take for granted.

The Brussels Climate Week SME Fellowship changes that. It brings the brightest local, European and international innovators into the heart of the Week, giving them a stage alongside policymakers, industry leaders and investors, and a genuine chance to accelerate their impact.

Fellowships are made possible by our sponsoring organisations; forward-looking companies and institutions who fund places so that promising SMEs can take part regardless of budget. Every Fellowship is a vote of confidence in entrepreneurship as a force for climate action.

Meet the 2026 Fellows

Koala

Italy · Renewable energy communities · koala.it

Koala is putting energy back in the hands of communities. Its platform helps citizens, cities and businesses
set up and run local renewable energy communities, from first idea to day-to-day operation, so the
benefits of clean power stay local, transparent and shared.

LineVision

United States · Grid technology · linevisioninc.com

LineVision helps utilities build the net-zero grid without building new lines. Its non-contact sensors and analytics monitor overhead power lines in real time, unlocking up to 40% more capacity on existing infrastructure while flagging risks such as sag, icing and the conditions that can spark wildfires.

OpenEvidence

Spain / Italy · Research & policy consulting · open-evidence.com

Open Evidence turns evidence into better decisions. The Barcelona- and Milan-based firm designs studies
for European institutions and organisations, combining qualitative and quantitative methods across
energy and sustainability, public health, digital policy and behavioural science; helping policymakers and
businesses act on what the data actually shows.

Rondo Energy

United States / Europe · Industrial decarbonisation & grid flexibility · rondo.com

Rondo stores renewable electricity in simple brick and wire, then delivers it back as firm, dispatchable power and heat — easing the strain that curtailment and transmission bottlenecks put on Europe’s grid. Its Heat Battery discharges zero-carbon steam above 1,000°C for industry, or firm power for the grid, without new gas infrastructure. Rondo is scaling projects across Europe and the world.

Fellowship Sponsors

The SME Fellowship is powered by organisations who believe in entrepreneurship as a driver of climate progress. By funding Fellowship places, our sponsors give promising SMEs the platform they’ve earned and align their own brand with the innovators shaping Europe’s future.

We are proud to recognise the organisations backing the 2026 cohort:

Why the Fellowship matters?

Climate solutions rarely start in boardrooms. They start in workshops, labs and small teams with the conviction to build what doesn’t yet exist. The SME Fellowship exists to celebrate that entrepreneurial spirit and to remove the barriers that keep good ideas small.

For the Fellows

Visibility with the people who can open doors: buyers, partners, funders and press; all in one week, in the capital of Europe.

For the Week

A pipeline of real, deployable innovation that keeps Brussels Climate Week grounded in delivery, not just debate.

For Europe

A stronger, more competitive climate economy built on the businesses that will define the next decade.
